Having used a Leica IIIf and an M2 for a few years I too thought there was a
Leica Look, but when perusing my old black & white prints I found my
assessments of them are very inconsistent - some nice images that I assumed
to be from my Leica era were, in fact, often noted on the back as having
been taken with my Oly 35RC or Kiev 4, and I sadly have to conclude that the
different film emulsions and developers, with which I often experimented,
contributed more to the variation of image 'look' than to the camera or lens
that was used. (I couldn't help noticing though, that most of the sharpest
prints originated from roll film.)
