It's called Memory Lock and you see the word "MEMO" in the viewfinder when you
use it. A red light on the top deck of the camera also lights. Set by CCW move
of the Clear/Memory lever and it works in Centerweighted Average or Spot
metering modes. The meory lock holds for 60 minutes unless you clear it by a CW
turn of the lever.
