Ha! That sounds like the CC mentality, yes :-)  When I responded "Olympus"
to the question of what gear I use, the reply was "O dear".  And that from
a Minolta user!  Anyway, I proceeded to win the first slide comp I entered
which shut them up nicely :-)  To be fair, at the club to which I belong
(St.Albans) it's very rare for anyone to talk about hardware these days
which is refreshing.  Members don't even have cameras hanging round their
necks at meetings anymore either.  But membership of CCs in general is
falling.

Not all progress is actually useful, except to keep companies in business
and people in jobs.  If everyone had our attitude, Oly and the rest would
have gone bust years ago! I've only ever bought one *new* Zuiko, and that
was the 50/1.8 that came with my OM-10....
