The fuel was JP-7.
The top design speed was Mach 3.2
Several reached Mach 3.5 to 3.6 "inadvertently".
At Mach 3.6 they exceeded the design integrity of the windshield glass as
well as the metal post in the middle of the windshield.
The speed record of coast to coast (U.S.) was 64 minutes.
At Mach 3.6 the shock wave has compressed to the point where it fits
inside the engine intake. If this were to happen, the engines would shut
down.
Re: Tokina ATX 28-85 lens-
Several members were discussing the merits of this lens. I have one which
I would part with. Aperture of 3.5 - 4.5 , 62mm filters, special close
focus mode- focuses as close as 33cm. Note- this is not a petite Zuiko.
It looks and feels like it'll withstand anything. SOLID metal feel.
