I live in the Flight pattern of March Air Force Base and when I first moved
here during the practice alerts the 52's would fly right over my house and
the windows would shake. When they took the bombers away and brought in the
Tankers it even got more exciting as they would fly so low as that I
thought I could count the rivets on the bottom of the plane.
I remember as a kid my mother worked for the county. When the built the
communications building on a hill above the base the head of that department
got the plans changed so his office had a window overlooking the base so he
could watch the planes take off. John Gettis
