Hi, list,

the other day I was paging through a brochure about Olympus cameras from
1973, where the SLRs FTL and M-1 (sic) are both listed. Olympus already had
an inkling of trouble about the >M< designation, because in some places the
M-1 had been stamped over in black. Some, but not all, and the brochure had
still been marketed. I also saw an Olympus OM-1 brochure from early 1973
(there must have been only months between the two) detailing the whole
system.

Strangely enough, in these there are 2 300mm lenses mentioned, one f/4.5
the other f/6.3. I have only heard of the f/4.5 up to now.

In the latter brochure the are also 2 400mm lenses mentioned, one f/4.5 and
one f/6.3. I have never seen the f/4.5.

There is also mention of a second bellows, the Auto Bellows-S with tiltable
front standard. Has anybody ever seen one?

Were these items "vaporware", listed but never manufactured? Or were they
manufactured for a short period and then discontinued? Who can shred some
light on this?
