Ray O Vac Renewals are a special alkaline cell that is recharged in a
charger designed specifically for them. Thats why why things got ugly
when you used your NiMH charger.
Oh, and you can't recharge regular alkalines in the renewal charger
either.
I think they have a much shorter life than NiMH or NiCad cells.
