Thought some may be interested in this discussion I came across... apologies
if we covered it already as I only recently started following our digital
threads... but why can't some company manufacture something similar for an OM
back? You'd think that with Olympus' expertise in digital camera technology
that it would have been them working on it by now... but, alas, have they
truly abandoned 35mm bodies?! (The OM-2000 doesn't count. They didn't have to
invest R & D to get that to market, did they?)
I know there would be a host of problems to address.....

Actually, If you were to get a digital back, you could. I have a friend who
works at AP and when one of the digital bodies isn't working he just
disconnects
the back and puts in onto an N90s. Now whether you can find a back for sale
alone is another question.
I think you can find the N90s based ditcams for sale for about $5000 now.
Especially now that there is a digital F5. The only problem with them is that
you get a 1.5x magnification ration on your images since the CCD is not the
same
size as the film plane. There is no loss of aperture though.
