Real-time downlink of digital imagery is indeed the way forward, for
military AND political reasons (e.g. the ability to demonstrate the wonder
of modern weapons an hour after the attack even the boys are still doing
their post-flight debrief). But the wet film recce pods in use with the
RAF are still in demand for the resolution and quality for exploitation in
slow time. Hey, who brought up the boring subject of recconaissance again
?????
