Acer,
        Thanks for the reply.  Yes both the light on the flash and the light in
the view finder have the same behavior (ready light, but no
"auto-check")  And I cleaned the "O" in Olympus, but that did not seem
to help.  Does your T32 "auto-check" light work when the flash is not
connected to a camera?  The other odd thing that may or may not be
related is the T32 seems to use up my Nicads very quickly.  This was not
a problem a few weeks ago.  I read in the Archives about the possibility
of the Capacitor going bad,  maybe some one out there knows the symptoms
for this failure mode.  Thanks again to all for your advice.
        By the way what is the recommended resistor for discharging the cap,
and is the cap available from electronics supply houses and or Olympus?
