Since so many of you expressed concern after my son's helicopter crash I
thought I'd give you a status update.
The passenger was less severly injured and is doing very well. Son
Scott is doing well. The (visible) stitches have been removed from the
head wound and the major threat of infection has passed. He can now
wash his head in the shower and is free to take iron supplements to help
rebuild his blood supply. He's also very happy at the moment since the
investigation has exonerated him of any responsibility for the
accident. Hard to imagine the cost of a Bell jet "Long Ranger" being
deducted from your pay.
No prognosis yet about when he will be able to fly again. That's likely
a ways off as is even being able to drive a car. Still very weak from
loss of blood.
