Greetings Olympus Users,
I'm new to your group, and have been "list-lurking" for a few weeks. I
have been watching the thread on metering patterns and thought I'd throw
in a question of my own that is related to that topic.
In the past I've had "constant aperture" zooms, but have recently
acquired a Zuiko 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 lens (eBay). The bodies I will be
using it on are an OM-3, OM-2n, and an OM-PC.
My question is this: On the OM-3, with the lens wide-open, is the
meter reading that change in light transmission and showing that on the
display (so I don't have to compensate mentally)? It's reading off the
sub-mirror live as I zoom, right?
I realise it's probably a different story for the OM-2n and OM-PC when
on manual, but I would plan on using them on OTF auto anyway.
A brief introduction, then I'll go back to "list-lurking" and just
read the responses. I've been using OM's since 1978 when I bought my
first OM-2, having traded in a M*****a system. I've been a Medical
Photographer (Ophthalmic specifically), for 16 years and use mostly
Z***s, and N***n equipment professionally (tho' my schooling has been as
a biologist). Some of you may have seen me on the L***a User's Group as
I also use an M4-P. I'll keep it short. Thanks for any help you might
have for me.
