Subject: Re: [OM] Problems with Olympus America

I received some inside information a couple of years ago , that Olympus
itself wants the OM stuff to go away. I swear it. I know your not suppose
to swear. This person who no longer works for Olympus said that he actually
visted the Olympus Tokoyo assembly plant and viewed actual metal die
castings that are used to make OM-1's , OM-2's etc. (bodies) they still sit
there and actually threw away millions of dollars worth of parts. (make
sense , no parts, new plastic camera)

Will live in a ruthless world dictated by money. If there is money to be
made then trash it. Most people buy point and shoot.

I wish John Hermanson would touch base on it a little more. He use to work
for Olympus and I am sure he would be able to say.

I've been told it's the cost of maintaining it which seems to make sense.
Not enough OM buyers and that is why I bought the EOS 1n with adapter ,
through the advice of some members.

I guess I felt a sense of loyalty and couldn't leave. You know "Like a
good Italian father". But a few of you made sense , by saying if that is
how you feel ,then buy it. I said to myself , you know what , do it.

Like I mentioned before , I was really excited when I heard Olympus was
coming out with the OM-2000. When it had no motor drive or winder , I felt
a little let down.

Money is in point and shoot and they think digital.
