[OM] [OT] WARNING. Off topic P*nt*x question

Subject: [OM] [OT] WARNING. Off topic P*nt*x question

I just inherited a dead P*nt*x P3 with 50mm f/2. It was given to me by
a
friend whose wife dropped it on the pavement from a height of 3 or 4
feet. According to him it hasn't worked since.

Aside from fine cracks in the top cover (from the front mounting screws
to the edge of the cover) and a 2mm ding at the edge of the bottom cover
I can't find any evidence of the impact. Aside from these marks the
exterior is in execellent condition. Hard to believe it took such a
tumble.

I've removed the top and bottom covers and the inside is even more
pristine. Everything looks brand new with no apparent damage. Despite
its looks the camera is totally dead. It does nothing, lights up
nothing. About all I've been able to determine is that there is battery
voltage present at the on/off switch and the shutter button.

I decided to look around the web for the P*nt*x equivalent of this list
and thing like Lee Hawkins' Olympus FAQs. Guess I've been spoiled by
all the Oly resources since I couldn't find much P*nt*x stuff. Any idea
where I might find
P*nt*x repair tips, hints, parts or anything else that might help me a)
determine if this thing is salvageable. b) how to go about doing it
myself or C) advice to forget it :) The camera was a freebe so killing
it deader with inept repair is not a problem. Mail me off list.
Thanks.
