Thank you Garth.  Quite a variety of chosen scanners from those who
responded. I've decided to go with an extremely affordable Umax Astra 2200.
Given that I don't intend to do any printing of my images off of the
computer it isn't practical or economical to spend alot of money on a
scanner.  But I did want something that gives me the best value for the
dollars I have.  Thus my choice above.  Thanks again for the input.
