If anyone is to be castigated, it might be B&H Photo -- I don't know if the 
scanner itself has been opened/used, but the CDs sure were!  Fingerprints, 
scratches, etc.

I think that we may be wandering far from the original msg.   My take on
the original msg was that he just bought the ES-10 and wanted to try it
out this weekend.  This was impossible because of damage to the CD.  He
was looking for a fix of the problem for this weekend.  I don't think
that we should have Olympus America castigated just yet on this matter.
