Oh boy, time for some rants, maybe.

That is correct, the OM2000 and others are made from the same basic body by
cosina. the body has a lot of polycarbonate in it, which may or may not be
bad. some like the disposablity of the camera. the basic camera appears to
have a lot of N*k*n influence, from the vertical copal shutter, to the led
meter in the viewfinder, etc. there are some advantages with this camera.
for example, the flash synch speed is higher (1/125th), the body is
lighter.

from what I can tell, cosina makes good products, just not outstanding ones
like olympus does (though i have no experience with new olympus gear).

i like olympus OM bodies because of the shutter speed ring around the lens
mount, which makes changing shutter speeds with my eye in the viewfinder
easier. I want to get a OM-4t at least because of the viewfinder info which
includes shutter speed, etc. at least I think it does. the earlier OM's
only have metering info in manual modes.

I just wished more pros used the OM series so that there would be more
corporate support.

Be seeing you.
