eBay does police its sellers if advised of illegal activity. Several months
ago they pulled an auction for a live human kidney. Apparently you can
donate organs but you can't sell them. The bidding was up into the millions
before the auction was yanked.

Hello all,
I have been watching the bids on the repair manuals put up for
Auction
by Nikondave, it has been said here and elsewhere what he is offering is
copyright infringement. Legal or not, his reserve is usually too high
for my pocket. Anyway this morning many of his auctions were nearing
completion but they have all been taken out of the database. A further
search by the seller shows no active auctions. has anyone else heard of
any details behind this. Could ebay be policing its sellers? This
could be an interesting story?
