If you are thinking about medical work, you may need closer focusing than the
Zuiko 100/2 or 100/2.8 provide - just a guess. And weight might not be a big
deal since you probably wouldn't be carrying it around a lot.

If that is the case, the Zuiko 90mm f2 macro (about $950 new) would of course
be 'ideal', but you can get pretty much the same functionality from the highly
regarded 90mm/f2.5 Tamron macro lenses, and probably the Tokina and Vivitar
equivalents for under $200 used. Plus they all make good 'portrait' lenses.

Of course, you could always add an extension tube ($25-$50) to that Zuiko 100mm
f2 or f2.8 for closer focusing when you needed it, but you might have to remove
the tube when you want to focus on something farther away.

Lots of ways to skin this cat......
