This is basically what they did with the OM-2S, OM-4, and OM-PC/40. When the
mirror is down the sensor at the bottom of the mirror box measures the light
which passes through the partially silvered main mirror and then is reflected
off of a sub-mirror behind it. I presume a sub mirror is used instead of
measuring off of the patterned shutter curtain due to the reduced light
levels available behind the main mirror.
