I suspect Contax advertises heavily in the magazine that claimed their
lenses outperformed Leica M. but the contax 90 has a max. aperture of
f/2.8, so you are right that it cannot touch any 90/2 summicron at f/2.
The APO version of the 90/2 was not yet released when that test was done.
Furthermore to be fair the APO costs several times as much as the Contax.
