Approx how long can the mirror foam--or rather, the foam padding around
the pentaprism of an OM-1n be useful? Can its condition be "extrapolated"
from the condition of the lightseals and mirror damping foampad? How
critical is it (that is, if it turns to muck, where can it creep into and
wreak havoc)? (pentaprism is solid piece of glass or open pentagon of
reflecting surfaces? "prism" should mean the former no? latter being
"pentamirror" as in low end SLRs).

Second, can the age of a body be approximated by ser #? (this is OM-1n).

Thanks,

/AV
