Thank you Marc. We are tentatively planning to travel in September just
after our youngest enters college. Checking the climate for the region,
September is still fairly warm averaging in the 80's. We had thought of
going in the April/May time frame but would prefer the weather to be a bit
warmer.

Unfortunately, the widest lense I possess is the 24mm F2. I just sold my
17mm Tokina.

Ron Crabtree had also recommended the Page area. There is so much to see
and photograph. Maybe I should take Ron's advice and move there!

<I had the chance to be there in august 1998, with my son and I've received
a
lot of good advises from some of our list members. If I could gives you an
advise try to avoid the overcrowded period of summer: in the South Rim of
the Grand Canyon it was as difficult to park the car than in the center of
San Francisco..! The North Rim was less populated but you must made a lot of
miles to go there...
Flagstaff is a nice "little" town and if you are interested by astronomy you
could visit the Lowell Observatory.
George Anderson recommend me Antelope Canyon not far from Page but
unfortunately I had not the time to visit it: you need to go there with a
guide as it's an Indian reservation next time I'll take the time to go
there...
Bryce is of course a must like Zion, where there is also some parking
"difficulties", there was a thread about that some times ago. Of course you
need the "widest" possible Zuiko, my 24mm was often too "narrow"... (OM
content...). If you go in Las Vegas, ask Garry Reese for the dinning areas:
it's as good an advisor than for lens testing..!
Hope you spend nice moments there, your post remind me nice moments...

regards
