I'm amazed this lens hasn't been sold yet. I have one of them and I love it,
it's tack sharp and has a very useful range. The price you mention is
excellent too, I got mine for some $200, BUT only because I bought it in a
package deal, which also included the 24/2.8, as well as some lens/body
cases...

My advice: try to get the price down to something like $150 and buy it
yourself. I realise you're still a student, and I remember those days very
well when I was one and couldn't afford stuff like this. But, if you manage
to buy it, you'll get a very nice lens which should complement your gear in
many ways.
