So this lens only has a four-leaf iris? How is flare with this lens?

Is battery consumption with the XA pretty good? My major gripe with the
newer P&S cameras is that they suck on batteries like breathmints.

Snip,

Hi Ken,
Yep, Square aperture

I have owned an XA since they first came out in the early 80's. That little
camera stayed with me in the outdoors from summer through winter everywhere
I went for years. I never worried about the batteries. I have 2 xa's now
and they lay around the house for months without getting used and I can't
remember when the last time I changed the batteries. I think they last as
long as an OM1 with mercs. I can't say that for my wife's Stylus.
I have been happy with the quality of the pictures. I shot Kodachrome 64
for years and was always pleased. But, I use it for snapshots, it's not a
Zuiko but I have several 8x10s hanging in my office taken with it.
Two of my fly fishing buddies also have XA's. Once on a stream in Montana,
we all pulled them out of our fly vest at the same time. None of us knew
the others even owned one.
Small world.
Good luck,
Buddy
