Thank you Doris nicely said as usual.

These political flame wars persuade no one and just harden peoples positions
on either side.Ultimately they cause people to leave the list or cause bad
feelings between members who would otherwise share their common delight and
enthusiasm for photography. There certainly is enough cynacism about politics
already, Doris is right we don't need to fuel the flames here on such a
congenial and friendly (usually) photographic list.

Photo topic (but low OM content) : It was interesting to see the Nova program
on the space race / moon landing. If you are in the US and it gets repeated
on your local PBS channel, it is worth watching especially for those
spectacular shots of earth rising over the moon taken from moon orbit. In the
sequences on the moon rover there are some pictures showing the Hassey being
used. Does anybody know what film they used and what modifications in terms
of lubrication they used on these bodies. I believe metal bearings tend to
cold weld together under vacuum so it would be interesting to know what
problems they had and how well the film worked with the temperature extremes.
Especially as film sensitivity is temperature dependent and it probably gets
very brittle when really cold. Does the film produce static discharges in
vacuum as it sometimes does under dry conditions on earth? How did they meter
exposure .... Anybody know anything they could share with us about the
photography on these space missions ( OM or not ). I would imagine with such
contrasty conditions (no sky/air to scatter) exposures could be difficult to
meter (OM4 - multi spot is ideal!)

Is this the wedding photographers nightmare situation where everybody
including the bride and mother-in law look like Frankenstein!
