Nixon would have been as well, but there existed at that time honest
politicians in his own party (The recently deceased Elliot Richardson
for one) who refused to further support Nixon's lies and coverups.
Unfortunately, no such Democrat exists today.

you have a rather distorted sense of history. Nixon resigned to save
the embarrassment of being impeached, which he surely would have been
had he stayed on.
but Nixon's crimes were far more serious than Clinton's sexual affairs.
That aside, maybe you can explain why almost all Republicans put honesty
aside to rally behind Reagan and Bush during the Iran-Contra scandal?
