==================
>>>"The OM4Ti is, quite literally, a gem."<<<
What an illiterate sentence! Something is literally a simile? A "gem" is
<snip>
t's fine to say "The OM-4Ti is a gem," but the
OM-4Ti is literally NOT a gem. It is figuratively a gem.
==================

life is too short to let things like that hurt your ear. I think they used
the "quite literally" qualifier for emphasis, and the statement is by
no means wrong if you use the webster's definition of gem, as it gives
five definitions.

1. jewel

2. a precious or sometimes semiprecious stone cut and polished for ornament

3. something prized especially for great beauty or perfection

4. a highly prized or well-beloved person

5. muffin

So, their statement that the OM-4T is, quite literally, a gem is correct,
quite literally, with definition `3' of Webster's Unabridged Dictionary.
