|a faceted or polished precious or semiprecious stone. When you say a
|thing or a person is a "gem," meaning that it is "valued for its beauty,
|perfection, or preciousness," it is not a literal meaning, but a
|figurative meaning. It's fine to say "The OM-4Ti is a gem," but the
|OM-4Ti is literally NOT a gem. It is figuratively a gem.
