The raw resolution of Epson 850z is 1600x1200, 1984x1488 is only interpolated. I
guess most of the 2.1 Meg pixel DC have the same CCD. This Epson 850z may even
have
the same lens as Olympus C2000.

Epson 850Z $1099
C-2000 $1235
C-2020 $1299
C-2500 $2169
Fuji MX-2900 $1349
The Epson 850Z is actually the highest resolution (1984x1488) of the pack,
which makes it seem like a great deal - this may be due to lower profit
margins in the computer dealers who carry Epson, as opposed to camera
shops who carry all the other makes.
At the moment, the C-2500 is still well above the $2000 I have to spend,
since I will also need a card reader, etc.
