The 2 series screens - only two of them unfortunately - are extra bright
versions of the corresponding 1 series screens ie. a 2-13 is a bright 1-13
and has the same focusing aids. The 2-4 is all matt without split prism
and micro-prism aids (this is my personal preference). They are Olympus'
equivalent of Beatie screens and are reportedly superior in quality and
possibly performance.

The only quality issue I am aware of with the OM2-SP is that 'some' can
develop an electrical fault whereby they have a high current drain even
in standby mode and so tend to flatten batteries quite quickly. OM4's
may also develop this fault so are potentially no better quality wise.
I have both a OM2-SP and OM4 and their mechanical 'feel' is of an
equivalent high standard.

I must stress that this high current drain problem probably only develops
in a minority of cameras of either model and some list personages believe
these have more or less been weeded from the market but I would still test
either with an ammeter to check standby mode current drain before
purchase.

The 2/n have a better reputation electronicly because their circuits can
be repaired whereas the 2-SP's circuit is irreparable and is no longer
available. Likewise for the OM4 except it's circuit can be replaced with
an OM4-Ti circuit which IS available and is not subject to the high drain
problem at all.
