For the work of transcribing and translating the Great AA, you too deserve a
place in photography's hagiography. Your post has helped me to get a handle
on something I had noticed but failed to grasp theoretically. Now I know
why in particular instance I like that old collapsible summicron 50/2, with
plenty of cleaning marks and no lens hood, and why some of my favourite
images were made with an ugly single coated 24/2.8. Heck now I know there's
an equation.
