Too true. My father died last year. He flew Spits, Hurricanes, Grumman
Hellcats and others.

What a man ... and what a life.
Unfortunately, these days most pilots (and navigators/weapons system
operators if the Equal Opportunities lobby is reading this ;-)) stick
to one front line aircraft type. I am very lucky to have flown
Hunters, Jaguars, Tornados aaaand F-16C.
But it is all finished now. It's the short-haul holidaymakers to
Malaga for me now!
