Yes, the shops are air-conditioned, but the homes of the previous owners 
probably weren't.  A lens that has been stored away in a cupboard in a 
Cairns house, (or worse still, a Tully or Innisfail house), unused for a 
few years before finally being traded in, has a good chance of having 
fungus.  I only mentioned this because I did look at a lens that caught my 
eye in a Cairns shop a couple of years ago, and yes, it did have fungus.
