I guess as long as Camtech and Photosphere are around, I don't worry about
service on the OM-1. As long as our European friends help us out, we can
get batteries, or the MR9 or Camtech's battery conversion works nicely.

For me the OM-1 is best for walkabout shooting, and astronomic photography
because the camera is mechanical and has mirror lockup. I certainly
appreciate it the more winter photography I try to do. I don't use it for
macro or other kinds of shooting that involve speeds in the 1/2 to 1/30
range, where the shutter/aperture stopdown give a measurable kick. It works
well with manual flash and flash-controlled auto.

I personally use an OM2000 for more precise exposure control when I want to
use a mechanical camera.

One of my favorite things to do is put the OM-1 on a winder with 85/f2 and
burn a roll of 100 or 400 ASA print film shooting the kids and the cat.
