Given my experiences with Carsen over the years, I'd say this probably 
means they are no longer prepared to stock them, and not necessarily that 
they are out of production. (althought this is certainly possible). If this 
were 
the case, they wouldn't really be telling a lie, since we in Canada have no 
choice but to deal with Carsen, and accept what they are prepared to 
distribute.
As an example, of the many options listed on the Olympus web site for the 
C-2000/C-2500 cameras, very few of these are available in Canada.
Considering Olympus is placing great emphasis on their digital line, it 
appears that Carsen is doing less than a stellar job of fulfulling their 
commitment to "to provide Canadians with the highest quality optical 
products in the world." (quote from their web site - www.carsengroup.com).
