I would expect flack from ANY seller whom I sent negative email about to his
prospective client. On the client side it depends. On the few instances
where I felt compelled to notify a bidder of possible misrepresentation of
an item, I received thankful replies of notifying them of a potential
problem/scam. It really depends on the attitute of the person involved.
There have been reports of fake stations signs on eBay on the Railroadiana
list. Some there have notified bidders with mostly thankful results. There
will be those who think you are trying to keep them from winning something
and you'll snipe it yourself at a lower cost, but I think most bidders would
like to know if there are obvious irregularities they don't see.

Would it be unethical of us to send emails to whoever is the high bidder,
warning him/her of what's going on? Has anyone else tried this yet? I've
composed an email but am not sure if I should send it.
