As a commodity producer myself, I am very sympathetic to the losses
producers face when the media presents untrue or biased reports of
dangers associated with their crops. Apple producers lost millions
over the Alar scare, and grain farmers stand to lose money over
unfounded paranoia about seed varieties. While speech may be free,

after all, the agribusiness knows what is best for us, so what
right do consumers have to question whether pesticides, herbicides,
or genetically engineered seeds are harmful to their health?
