The pixel size of today's 2.5~3milillion CCD
image sensors are about 3.4um x 3.4um. Therfore,
the very large ones are(~6million pixel) about
2.7um x 2.7um in x and y dimensions - I read
somewhere in one of the IEEE(?) Journals.

In contrast, the CMOS versions are much larger
in pixel dimensions - I am looking at the
proceedings from ISSCC (International Solid
State Circuit Conference) held at San Francisco
this past week.

Again, I apologize for misinforming every one
and occupying with non-OM content bandwidth.

I'll keep my finger quiet.
