Jim,
The easiest thing to to might be removing the UV filter when you use the
circular polarizer. It is what I do with all the lenses. Fewer air/glass
interfaces for flare, less possibility for vignetting (which is what you
asked about), and the polarizer should take care of any UV making the UV
filter redundant.
