'78 or '79 sounds about right. Depends on whether the dates you find
signify start of production or release to retail distribution. Bought mine
in 1980 and they had not been out on the market that long; only about a
year or so. As I recall, the OM-1n and OM-2 were the single digit models
being sold at the time with some talk of an OM-2n.
