It can be a bit like, as someone said to me, "wrestling with an octopus".  I
have a Trekker mostly because I wanted to do insect macro work.  The only
thing I didn't like about it was that it came with a ball and socket head
that had an alarming tendency to come loose at  the wrong moment :)

I've replaced the head with a Manfrotto 460mg three way magnesium head  -
lovely bit of kit and v. light.
