John,

I really don't think there is much noticeable difference in the Zuiko MC vs.
SC. The
biggest difference is that it is easier to get lens flare with the SC lens. So
when using
ultra wides that can sometimes be a problem when you have to shoot in the
direction of the
sun. Under controlled lighting conditions this is not a problem. In the
studio you might
find a tiny bit more contrast on a MC lens. However if you know what you're
doing you can
get any high quality lens (SC or MC) to perform very well. The main difference
in Zuiko
lenses is that the MC are much newer than the SC, and they are usually less
worn. A lens
that has had many years of use begins to show it's age in performance just like
anything
else. IMO a SC lens in mint condition should perform better than the same
design in an
abused or overused MC lens. This is especially true of the Zuikos, since all
of these
lenses perform very well out of the box. However lenses that are dropped , or
with worn
mechanisms, or dirty and scratched glass, or sticky diaphragms are not worth
using since
they just not up to the job necessary for quality photography.
