Hi Acer,

you asked:

In the Manfrotto numerology, the 200PL-14 (3157N) plate fits OMs well, I
leave
mine attached. The plates are cheap, too.

I use a 141RC (3030) pan-tilt head on the 190 (3001) legs and I like the
combo a lot. Being a true 3-way the head is *much* nicer than the sort you
see on typical one-piece amateur-oriented tripods. The same QR plate is
also used by the 352RC (3262QR) midi-ballhead, and a whole bunch of others

(The full list of heads that take the 200PL-14 is:
- Ball Heads 155RC, 222, 222NAT, 308RC, 352RC, 468RC
- 3D Heads 141RC, 141RCNAT, 460Mg
- Head 234RC, 390RC
- Video Head 128RC, 128RCNAT, 200
)

The Manfrotto web site at http://www.manfrotto.com/products/index.html
has descriptions and pictures of the whole range, so you can see what's
being talked about on the list. The site is slow and flakey, however, and
the tables sometimes get truncated (for me).

I've just looked it up myself and added the US (Bogen) codes to the above,
in brackets. BTW I believe that the Bogen name is soon to be dropped and
the gear sold as Manfrotto in the US.

Note that I have *no* experience of high-quality gear like Gitzo or
Arca-Swiss, so my comparisons are only against the lesser tripods that
I have seen and used.

Hope this helps anyway,

-Brian
