Gary,
Tell me if I'm thinking correctly about the data in your posts about
filters. Of the filters you've tested that "pass," the Hoyas and Vivitar
VMCs seem to have some odds-on advantages of passing muster, but the real
gist of it is that the disappointing effect of sample variation would
dictate either testing each specific example that one might use, regardless
of brand, or just not using filters at all.
