I suppose it would depend on how leaky the lens is as you'd have to get a
throughput of air from the front for it to stand a chance. If you're going
to try it, I'd suggest that you rubber band a large open new polythene bag
around the other end to avoid sucking more dust in. Like don't rest the
front element in an ash tray!
