Ahhh, Grasshopper, you have much to learn <g>. UPS has a marvelous web
site that can accurately tell you *when* something will arrive in advance
of shipping. It can also tell you status en route, so you can move to plan
"B" if (rather rare) something goes awry on the planned arrival date.
Arrange for shipping so that arrival will occur when the other half will
not be there, or when you will arrive home first to intercept its arrival.
Discrete disposal of the box and packing materials is another art form in
itself. Drivers have normal routes for business pickup and dropoff. Home
deliveries are made along them almost always at the same time of day.
