That is a sub-miniature phone jack. It is connected to the button (which
is really a momentary switch). It is for use with a Winder2 or MotorDrive
to release the shutter electrically through the winder or motordrive. The
M.Grip Cord is a short cord with a sub-miniature phone plug on each end.
One end goes into the jack on the Bounce Grip 2 and the other into the
remote release jack on the winder or motordrive.

How it hooks together:
Put the winder or motordrive onto the camera body. Then stack the Bounce
Grip under the winder/motordrive. Make the flash connection to the camera
body with the PC cord (flash in normal auto or manual) or one of the other
multi-pin cords for this (for TTL auto control). You can now use this by
using the shutter button on the winder/motordrive. If you hook an M.Grip
Cord (or equivalent) between the Bounce Grip and winder/motordrive, you can
use the button on the Bounce Grip (the winder button will still work too).
An "official" M.Grip Cord isn't required. Any two-wire cord with sub-mini
phone plugs on each end will work.

A good description of the Bounce Grip 2 is here on Hans' wonderful "Sales
Information File" site which has a little info about the connection:

The other half (winder/motordrive and M.Grip Cord) is here (also on Hans'
site):

Hope this helps,
