Mike, I haven't yet seen a 50-250. It tested fairly comparably with the
85-250 in Gary Reese's tests. I wouldn't personally part with the 85-250
based on anything I learned from those tests however. The ratio with the
85-250 is a little more conservative and it has a tripod mount.
