Olaf, I think you've hit on it! I'll scan a pic a bit later this evening,
also taken with the 28/3.5 wide open, but much better (i think) sky. Also,
it might be the relative brightness of blue vs white maybe? Just a
guess. Now that my finals are over (phew! and I'm getting extra credit in
astro physics for my eclipse photo !!) I'll be burning film (and as my
supervisor said, working over the break to break even <gg>) and will shoot
wide -open. Ah, the 15MB server space is a good thing :)
